Social Restaurant-Bar Sidles Into the Star in Frisco With Food & Games

It’s been a long time coming but Sidecar Social, the entertainment-centric dining concept, is opening a location at The Star.

The restaurant-bar, which is from North Texas-based On Deck Concepts (Boomerjack’s), has been in the works since 2021, and according to a release, the opening date has finally arrived: Monday, September 25.

It’ll open at 6770 Winning Dr., in a space that was formerly home to Trophy Park Sports Bar.

Founded by Brent Tipps, the first Sidecar Social debuted in Addison in August 2019, back in the day when having “social” in your name was a hot trend, before the anti-social pandemic scourge came along. Sidecar not only endured the pandemic but thrived.

This will be the second location and is predicted to be a multi-sensory, social experience, in a 23,000-square-foot space with seating for up to 714, climate-controlled patio, multiple bars, game rooms, massive screens for sports viewing, and both an indoor and outdoor stage for live music and events.

Part of Sidecar Social’s newest and most ambitious design includes a massive 32-foot video wall inside and three additional 16-foot- video walls (two inside and one on the patio).

The climate-controlled patio is a year-round oasis, with almost 3,600 square feet of covered space, roll-up garage doors, and faux grass floors for an indoor/outdoor dining experience. Additional patio space features private cabanas with personal TVs, couches, and fire pits.

Food, drink, games
From the restaurant’s open kitchen will flow shareables, flatbreads, burgers, and main dishes like braised short rib and grilled salmon, as well as an extensive weekend brunch.

The space has three bars: two downstairs, with a total of 60 seats, and one on the upstairs mezzanine with an additional 10 seats, all serving craft cocktails and a selection of brews.

Games and activities include pop shot, skee-ball, ping pong, darts, cornhole, and 8-person foosball. Upstairs will feature three private karaoke rooms that can flex into one large room for groups and events. Murals and 3D art provide the ever-essentail backdrop for Instagrammable photo opportunities. Community is at the heart of everything they do.
