You can’t watch a movie in the theater without a big bowl of buttery, salty popcorn. But, there’s a technique to get the ideal ratio of butter to popcorn, and one Texas movie theater employee has it perfected.
Jason Grosboll may be the first person to ever go viral for their popcorn-serving skills. In a recent TikTok, he’s seen elegantly scooping popcorn, mixing it with butter, and twirling the bucket on his fingertips. He’s so good, his name tag is labeled “Popcorn Guy.”
The video has garnered so much attention that the Popcorn Guy, who said he’s been doing this for about 10 years, even made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to demonstrate his technique.
First, he fills a bucket about halfway with popcorn. Then he drizzles some butter. He then then gives it a twirl to mix it up before repeating this three more times to fill the bucket. Kimmel even invited him to show off his skills at the Oscars.
There are already over 21,000 comments on the original TikTok, with one user writing “forget Salt Bae we got Butter King.”
Bless you, Popcorn Guy. We can’t wait to see you at the Oscars.
