Holdsworth Foods Takes Delivery of 14 Tasty Isuzu Forwards

Derbyshire-based Holdsworth Foods has taken delivery of 14 new Isuzu Forward 7.5-tonne rigids, with a further five on order for delivery in September.

Ian Mycock, general manager at Holdsworth Foods, said: “Our first four 7.5-tonne Isuzus were originally purchased in 2015 as we wanted to assess them for payload and reliability.

“Over the subsequent two years, these Isuzus have proved to be really good value and economical to operate, as well as being favoured by our drivers for their overall performance. As a result, when we needed to implement the latest fleet replacement programme at 7.5 tonne, Isuzu fitted the bill perfectly.”

The trucks feature Easyshift automatic gearboxes and each vehicle has a Solomon multi-compartment refrigerated body with the deep-frozen section at the rear of the body and the chilled compartment at the front.

Refrigeration is provided by Carrier Xarios MT systems.

The vehicles are expected to operate for five years and have been supplied through Isuzu truck dealer HRVS in Sheffield.

Supported by a five-year R&M contract through Isuzu, Holdsworth Foods anticipates each Isuzu will cover more than 50,000km per year over its working life.
