Known as Glasgow’s’ best burger’, El Perro Negro delighted diners when it opened a permanent outlet in Finnieston earlier this year.
Seating about eight people, the shop is ideal for a takeaway and often gives discounts to anyone attending a big show at the nearby Hydro.
But now the brains behind the best burger, Nick Watkins, is ready to open larger premises, which will be located on Woodlands Road.
What started as a popular pop up and kitchen takeovers in 2014, resulted in permanent premises after Nick teamed up with the chefs behind another iconic Argyle Street restaurant, The Gannet.
The new El Perro Negro is due to open early next year and will seat around 30 to 35 people.
With both venues in the west end, Nick is keen to look elsewhere in the city for further outlets.
As reported in the Herald, Nick highlighted the possibility of further openings of El Perro Negro outlets, perhaps in the east end or south side of Glasgow or further afield, but ths would be only after the Woodlands restaurant had been open for at least a year. Sorry southsiders!
The current El Perro Negro menu includes the now famous Top Dog burger, which consists of bone marrow and roquefort butter, double bacon, caramelised onions and black truffle mayo.
As well as this there’s also classic burgers and cheeseburgers for those looking for something less decadent.
