Did You Know About the New Beer Garden in Boston Common?

Drink Trillium and eat Taqueria El Barrio this summer!

Crack open a cold one in the park this summer, without having to bring a cooler!

Downtown Boston has another opening worth celebrating this summer, a new beer garden from Trillium and a stage for live entertainment, right on the Common.

Open through November 1, the newly created Trillium Garden on the Common will serve guests their locally brewed beers at Tremont Street and Boylston Street. Open Wednesday through Sunday, the beer garden seats more than 400 people, and will also feature performances curated by Emerson Uncommon Stage.

Taqueria El Barrio will be slinging delicious eats at the beer garden, and tacos are most definitely on the menu! Taqueria El Barrio’s line up includes Carne Asada (grilled steak), Pollo (grilled chicken), Carnitas (slow braised pork) and Chorizo (vegan) tacos, housemade salsas, as well as tortas (sandwiches) and elote. They’ll also offer non-alcoholic drinks like Jarritos and Aguas Frescas.

Trillium will be pouring beers like the hoppy Surf Sesh and Trailside, farmhouse ales like Citra Free Rise and hard seltzers.

Upcoming performances on the Emerson stage include Aaron Perrino, of the Sheila Divine, Fabiola Méndez Trio, singer-songwriter Brooke Annibale and performance poet Tim Hall. You can find the full schedule here

“This new performance venue and beer garden on Boston Common will activate the historic park, and our Downtown, with performances that represent all of our residents of Boston and a new, beautiful outdoor gathering space for all,” Mayor Michelle Wu said, announcing the new beer garden. “The city is proud to partner with Emerson College and two family-owned local businesses — Trillium Brewing and Taqueria El Barrio — to bring new joy and renewal to Downtown Boston.”

The Trillium Beer Garden will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 – 9 pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 12 – 9 pm, and Sundays from 12 – 6pm.
