A kick of fresh ginger livens up the Sanderson Hotel’s gin and carrot creation
The combination of sweet carrot and sharp ginger is one that has stood the test of time, so we thought, surely it would work in a cocktail, too. The kick of fresh ginger goes really well with gin.
Serves 150ml gin
50ml carrot juice
20ml gomme syrup (or 1⅓ tbsp white sugar)
1 slice peeled fresh ginger, finely diced
10ml dry sherry
1 slice peeled carrot, to garnish
Put the first five ingredients in a cocktail shaker, add ice and shake hard. Double strain into a martini glass and garnish with a slice of carrot speared on to a cocktail stick.
