Diners can expect to find Clinton Street Baking Co.’s famous pancakes on the Dumbo waterfront next year. The hit brunch destination is one of 21 vendors setting up shop inside the NYC’s Time Out Market, a massive food hall from the same company as magazine Time Out New York opening next spring.
Clinton Street, which commands long waits in the Lower East Side, will have its own stall within the two-floor, 22,000-square-foot complex at Dumbo’s Empire Stores, restaurant co-owner DeDe Lahman tells Eater. A condensed menu will offer favorites like pancakes with maple butter, Spanish scramble with chorizo, and eggs Benedict — plus some new dishes like a brioche French toast with blackberries, lemon curd, and fresh blackberry syrup, according to a news release.
Other top vendors include popular pizzeria Juliana’s, from the legendary Patsy Grimaldi; Mexican cantina Alta Calidad; and Fort Greene Middle Eastern favorite Miss Ada.
Juliana’s, which is located next to Grimaldi’s in Dumbo, will bring a classic margherita pie, as well as rotating options like scamorza affumicata and pancetta, to Time Out’s food hall. The restaurant’s egg cream will also make an appearance. Restaurateur Akhtar Nawab will fill Alta Calidad’s stall with Mexican-style roti and plenty of tacos. Over at Miss Ada, hummus patters and bowls will be the focus.
The new bi-level food hall will also feature three bars, a stage, and exhibition space. There will be 520 communal seats, and a rooftop area overlooks the East River and Manhattan skyline.
The Time Out team aims to pick vendors that “represent the city” well, market CEO Didier Souillat tells Eater. He says he works with the magazine’s editorial team to identify concepts that define a city’s dining scene. So far, 11 vendors have been confirmed. See a full list below.
The remaining 10 vendors are now being finalized and will be named closer to the opening date. Time Out already has a food market in Lisbon and plans to open more in Miami, Boston, Chicago, and Montreal next year.
The NYC food hall is poised to open spring 2019 within the waterfront Empire Stores complex at 55 Water St., a property that also houses Vinegar Hill House offshoot VHH Foods, Cecconi’s, and Miami import Sugarcane.

Reserve Cut: A kosher steakhouse with a French- and Asian-influenced menu in FiDi.
Bessou: Japanese restaurant serving homey dishes in Noho.
Mermaid Oyster Bar: A branch of the Mermaid restaurant group dishing out oysters, lobster rolls, and other seafood dishes.
Felice Pasta Bar: Italian restaurant and wine bar with locations in UES and downtown.
Jacob’s Pickles: Spacious UWS gastropub focused on pickles and southern comfort food.
DŌ: Dessert shop selling cookie dough by the pint.
Avocaderia: An all-avocado restaurant with a location in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
