A new season brings in a slew of summer specials at many Baton Rouge restaurants.
Restaurants in the area are currently promoting their summer drink and food specials. There are new happy hour specials and ice-cold drinks to sip on while the July sun beats down. Some restaurants are offering new food specials featuring fruits and vegetables in season like tomatoes and watermelon.
Portobello’s Grill and SoLou has a new drink special called Half-y Hour offering half-off prices on all beer, cocktails and glasses of wine from 4-6 p.m. every day of the week. This restaurant has two locations: 7622 Old Hammond Highway and 15440 George O’Neal Road.
Spanish tapas restaurant Solera is promoting two specials this summer.
The restaurant offers a Sangria Pitcher & Paella special on Wednesday nights. If paella is ordered with a pitcher of Sangria, there will be a discounted price. This special is dine-in only.
On Thursday nights, wine bottles are half off.
Tap 65 has three specials currently running. People can get half-off mules and mule pitchers on Mondays, Taco Tuesday with happy hour specials all day and a Thursday ladies special offering $6 martinis and 30% off wine bottles.
Barracuda Taco Stand in Mid City has a new seasonal summer margarita, the Salted Watermelon Summer margarita. The taco spot has a Deluxe Nacho Hour every weekday from 3-6 p.m.
The summer menu at Reginelli’s Pizzeria offers four refreshing dishes to beat the heat. Seasonal menu items include eggplant burrata bruschetta, Creole chopped salad, watermelon salad and a downtowner sandwich.
Southern Pearl Oyster House‘s summer specials include Snow Crab Claws and Beer Battered Mahi.
Magpie Café has three sweet summer specials, a Key Lime Pie Ice Cream Sandwich,
a Miso Caramel Affogato with Granola Sprinkle and a Roasted Pineapple Ice Cream Sandwich.
The July taco of the month at Gov’t Taco is the Maui Wowi Taco. The restaurant said the taco is filled with steamed rice, grilled pineapple, tempura battered shrimp and teriyaki sauce.
Superior Grill in Mid City has a menu of summer specials, including ceviche, fried softshell crab tacos and more.
