Pete’s Teriyaki opens its first Clovis restaurant this weekend.
It’s a second location for the longtime Japanese fusion restaurant, which has had a location at Shaw and Marks avenues in Fresno since 1994.
The Clovis restaurant is in the Clovis Commons shopping center near Massage Envy, in the spot once occupied by Mah’s Teriyaki Express. It’s the same center with Target at the northeast corner of Herndon and Willow avenues.
Pete’s Teriyaki opens at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 5.
With so many of its customers moving to Clovis, the owners decided to open a location there.
The founder of the original Pete’s restaurant is Pete Mah. He’s planning to visit during part of the grand opening.
Pete’s Teriyaki menu
The new restaurant will keep the same menu. It features rice bowls and plates with chicken, beef and other proteins.
But about 80% of customers order the same thing, according to one of the partners.
That’s the special fried chicken plate. It comes with crispy, panko-crusted fried chicken, Pete’s signature teriyaki sauce, steamed rice, and tempura vegetables, including broccoli, yams and carrots.
The juicy dark meat chicken teriyaki plate is a favorite of the owners.
Although the grand opening is Sunday, the restaurant won’t normally be open on Sundays.
Details: The new Pete’s Teriyaki is at 605 W. Herndon Ave., suite 400. Its regular hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
